Driving Site Traffic to Achieve Goals

This week I am focusing on marketing goals I want to accomplish during the next 3 month window all while driving traffic to my website. There numerous goals I want to accomplish and numerous tactics to achieve them. But I have narrowed these down to my top 3 most important short term goals. The goals are 1) Increase my Instagram following to 10K (Go follow!), 2) Build an email subscription list of 500 (Sign up!), and 3) complete $10K worth of UGC collabs to begin building a reputation and trust in the industry (Work with me!). These became my top priorities for one primary reason. The current goal is to simply spread awareness of my brand, build trust and reputation, and build a “base”. I have no interest in making money (at least not as the primary business goal) until I have established those pieces above. I want relationships to be the center of the business and in turn drive traffic and sales because of those.
Goal 1: Increase Instagram Following to 10K and Goal 2: Build Email Subscription List to 500
This is arguably the most challenging piece for myself to accomplish. I say this because I have had an Instagram page for the last couple years and still only have a following for about 1500 people. Now, I have not stayed consistent with it until recently and also have not began applying tried and true methods for growing my social. Just a few months ago I decided to do an experiment though. At the time, I had about 340 followers. I wanted to do the 30 day challenge and post at the same time every day for 30 days. The result was an increase to about 1200 followers during that time period. Proof that an active and consistent feed will drive traffic to your page. That said, this rate will not work in achieving this goal. I need to be generating about 2800 new followers each month over a 3 month period to meet the goal. So how will I do this? I have created a content calendar to help me build out my posts to ensure I stay consistent as well as build in engaging content. Additionally, I plan to do a give away of one of my prints. This will require liking, following, and sharing that post as well as entering via a link in my profile that will capture the email. This way I am getting people engaged and excited, sharing my work, and getting my physical products out to the world to start obtaining feedback and reviews. This consistently WILL compound. No matter how small the start.
Goal 3: Complete $10K worth of UGC Deals (Work With Me!)
This is the goal I actually think will be the easiest to accomplish. It will require the most work however. Coming from the military, I am no stranger to harsh truths, rejection, and brutal honesty. So these things just simply (no longer) make me nervous. In fact, I look forward to these. Getting this type of feedback means they care. Of course there is rude and hurtful feedback that is different from constructive criticism. But for now, I am talking about constructive criticism. I value honest, even if hurtful, feedback. Without it, it is impossible to grow and better your skills. How can you improve if someone always tells you you are great at something if you in fact are complete ass at it? If you think you are good and then are validated even though you suck, you are clueless and have no reason to seek improvement. So, all that to say, reaching out to brands and pitching them my work is not the issue. The challenge here is simply getting enough, or enough high paying, deals to meet the goal. The other challenge is working with brands that I believe to have potential or have already established trust. I will not tell you how great something is if I do not see the potential or have experienced the greatness.
I hope you found some of the information in this post useful and maybe even inspiring to design your own approach! I look forward to learning together and growing our businesses together!
