The Migration Weekly Ep.03: The Week Of Attempts
This past week on The Migration has been CRAZY! It all started with Claire attempting features on a mountain bike trail we rode last June that she didn’t even consider possible at the time. Then I attempted to summit Mount Bachelor for the first time on snowshoes and ski back down. To top things off, Spoke and I head deep into the woods down a dirt road and cook an Outdoors Boys inspired dinner. Check out the video to see how it all turned out! It was an absolute blast of a week and going to be a great video!
The Migration Weekly Ep.02: Is Oregon Really This Amazing?
This past week on The Migration has been a BLAST! We hiked one of the most beautiful waterfall hikes I have ever seen, conquered new bouldering sets we found, and got back on one of the local’s favorite mountain bike trails! And, of course, we had to do another cold plunge for redemption! With Spring weather arriving and snow melting, adventures that have been hidden beneath the snow are returning.
The Migration Weekly: Photographing and Mountain Biking Polar Opposites in Bend Oregon
Weekly adventure recap featuring landscape photography and mountain biking in Bend, Oregon. This episode highlights a creative attempt at photographing the most visited waterfall in Bend, Tumalo Falls. I also explore the Oregon High Desert on a mountain bike ride, and experiment with GoPro self-portrait action shots along the way. After sweltering on the ride, I decided to cool off with a cold plunge in the Deschutes River. And of course, throughout the adventure I provide insights on techniques and gear.
Spoke and Craig Relaxing Mountain Bike Adventure
Spoke and I set out on a relaxing mountain bike ride on Sand Canyon at Horse Ridge near Bend Oregon. Taking some time to focus on relaxing and slowing down is important in an age that is all about speed and intensity. Enjoy this ambient mountain biking ride!
2025: A New Chapter Begins
2025 was the year everything changed. This article is a recap of the year I stepped away from active duty as an Army Field Artillery officer and went all in on building Martin’s Migration — chasing mountain biking, landscape photography, adventure, and a slower, more intentional life outdoors. I recap some of my favorite moments from each month , list my favorite mountain bike trail of 2025, and highlight my favorite photo of the year.
How Mountain Biking and Landscape Photography Shape Each Other
Mountain biking and landscape photography might seem like two different worlds, but for me, they’ve become inseparable. Read about how Hiking into remote places and riding a grueling mountain bike climb has transformed how I capture the outdoors. Every climb, descent, early wakeup, and frozen finger adds a new perspective to my photography and riding alike.
Post Road Trip Thoughts- Part 3/3
In this final part of a 3 part series of road tripping, I discuss what I thought of the road trip looking back on it. I talk about how I think it went overall, my favorite places, least favorite place, and the things I would change to make the road trip even better.
